The counterintelligence arm of the GIA is responsible for identifying and neutralizing national security threats from foreign states, intelligence services, and other actors. As well as being responsible for crimes under the jurisdictions of the GIA per the Revised Criminal Code of Mongolia and vested to take measures to prevent the disclosure of State and official secrets.
