NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE ACADEMY SHORT INTRODUCTION

HISTORY

The National Intelligence Academy was founded in 1997 by Order No. 209 of the Enlightenment Minister and Order No. 386 of the Director of the State Security Department as "The University of the General Intelligence Agency" and subsequently became “The National Intelligence Academy” by Order No. 350 of the Minister of Education, Culture and Science and has since been functioning under the status of University.

MISSION

Prepare, train, retrain and deliver advanced training to intelligence officers who will implement Intelligence organizations mission and duty, ensure national security of Mongolia by providing support with the outcomes of its work such as research on intelligence, security and scientific studies.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Provide degree in higher education;

Professional training and retraining;

Advanced training;

Conduct basic research and surveys on intelligence and security studies;

Produce specialized scientific magazines and information based on those research outcomes.

RESEARCH

The Scientific Council of the National Intelligence Academy, Ph.D. degree Committee consists of scholars in legal, social sciences who jointly organize research work and its results. The Academy has concentrated on organizing scientific research and has been conducting quarterly professional journals, academic conferences and discussions. For example, in 2010, 22 international researchers from 10 countries were present in the International Symposium on the "Mongolia Tibet 1913 Treaty". Since 2009, there has been a regular scientific meetings on topics such as "Russia", "China".

The Academy is also accustomed to organizing academic conferences, meetings, discussions on topics such as "Democratic society and Intelligence organization", "Ways to provide National security by political and diplomatic means", "Internal security", "Legal


procedures on intelligence activities", "The challenges of Mongolia's economic security", "Human security”, “Security of constitutional organizations and constitutional reform”, “Development trend of international law in Mongolia”, “Challenges to international law and mining sector”.

TRAINING

Higher Education:

Bachelor's degree in "Security";

Masters Degree in "Security Studies" program; Ph.D. Degree in "Security Studies" program; Qualification and retraining:

Advanced training;

Conduct retraining;

Qualification training;

Training per request.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

The Academy creates a favorable environment for working and learning by providing a comprehensive educational and research facility with library with 17 000 books, textbooks, handbooks, a lecture hall, classroom, a fully equipped criminalistic cabinet, computer lab, sports complex, special equipment, fitness room, student hall, selfeducation room and cafeteria.
